    10.00am - 1.00pm Yorkshire Traction and Honley Band opening the Festival

    10.00am - 5.00pm Fabulous Food Market

    10.00am – 8.00pm German beer garden open in Towngate Car Park

    10.30am Local budding chef Esme Murguit, aged 11 from Holmfirth was our competition winner and opened the festival, taking part in our first cookery demonstration.

    11.00am – 12noon Ready, Steady Cook
    Radio presenters Paul Clark and Andrew Crawshaw from Pennine FM cooked with Greg Christofi of Old Bridge Bakery against the head teachers of Holmfirth High School (Dr Williams) and Martin Rostron of Greenhead College, who  cooked with Yvette, Chef at Kirkwood Hospice in the Market Hall

    11.00am – 12noon Children’s entertainment at Norridge Bottom

    12noon – 1.00pm Local produce cookery demonstration by the Head Chef of the Old Bridge Hotel

    1.00pm – 2.00pm Enjoy lunch around the town

    1.00pm – 2.00pm Children’s entertainment in the Market Hall

    1.00pm – 4.00pm Live music from German Carnival Band (one of only two in the country) Frumptarn Guggenband in the German Beer Garden

    2.00pm – 3.00pm How to make the most of Yorkshire Cheese
    Cookery demonstration by Jane Harris of Yorkshire Dales Cheese Company in the Market Hall

    2.00pm Meet the brewer and tasting sessions at the Nook

    3.00pm – 4.00pm Local produce cookery demonstration by Ledston Estate Game in the Market Hall

    3.00pm – 4.00pm Children’s entertainment in the German Beer Garden

    4.00pm – 5.00pm Live music in the German Beer Garden

    Don’t miss:

    Cheese and wine tasting at Carniceria, taking place all day

    Safari Grill with exotic and unusual fayre at Carniceria taking place all day
    Kirklees Museums in traditional costume demonstrating butter-making by hand (using cream from Longley Farm)

    12.00 noon  Celebrity Cook Off
    The Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Karam Hussain welcomed Christa Ackroyd and Ian White from BBC Look North to the Food & Drink Festival for Celebrity Ready Steady Cook in the Market Hall

    1.00pm – 2.00pm Butcher’s Bash in the Market Hall
    A superb demonstration of butchery by local award winning butcher Brindon Addy

    1.00pm – 2.00pm Children’s entertainment in the German beer garden

    2.00pm – 3.00pm How to make the most of Yorkshire Cheese
    Cookery demonstration by Jane Harris of Yorkshire Dales Cheese Company in the Market Hall

    2.00pm – 3.00pm Cocktail making with Diageo’s Matthew Guest at Carniceria includes a complimentary cocktail

    2.00pm – 3.00pm Live music in the German Beer Garden

    3.30pm -  Children’s Chef’s Challenge
    Have you got what it takes to meet our chef’s challenge. Bring your commis chef (parent) to the Market Hall to take part (ages 5 – 14 only, with maximum of 10 entrants)

    Once completed the audience will then voted to decide the winning team - teachers of presenters!
